Arena Guide

Built in 1969, the Roseville Ice Arena is the home of the Roseville Area High School boys and girls hockey teams, Roseville Figure Skating Club, Roseville Area Youth Hockey Association. During the summer months, the Roseville Ice Arena is home to the Midwest College and High School Hockey Leagues.

The Roseville Ice Arena also offers an extensive schedule of public sessions including Open Hockey, Open Skating, Open Figure Skating, Skatercize, Skating Lessons (ISI Certified), and Adult Long Blades.

The Roseville Ice Arena has a capacity of 2,000 spectators, seven locker rooms, and a concessions stand. The ice arena is surrounded by a 1/7th mile-long indoor walking track.

Winter Skating Lessons

Winter is a great time to learn to skate or build your skating fundamentals. Classes meet once a week for 16 sessions on Tuesdays or Saturdays. Basic and advanced skills taught with I.S.I. skating program. Average class size is 12 students per instructor.

Register before November 23 to avoid a $5 late fee

Daytime Skating Lessons

Daytime lessons are a great chance to take skating lessons in smaller classes. Adults lessons are for first time skaters or skaters who want to work on their skills. Skaters, including adults, are strongly encouraged to wear protective gear including helmets. Practice ice is available for program participants from 10:30am-11:00am

The 2012-13 OVAL ice season was another fantastic season for the OVAL. The OVAL remains one of the premier winter recreation facilities in Minnesota. Thank you for letting us serve you!

  • The Oval has hosted events such as World Cup Speedskating, World and National Bandy Championships, and Aggressive Skating and Biking competitions.
  • During the summer the Guidant John Rose MN Oval boasts one of the largest outdoor Skate Parks in the Midwest!
  • The Guidant John Rose MN Oval has an inline hockey rink in the summer, including regulation size dasher boards and nets.
  • The Guidant John Rose MN Oval scoreboard can be used for personal messages during events, birthdays, meetings, and advertisements.
